Salary: Grade 13, £26,847 - £29,071 per annum
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week
Contract: This is a fixed term contract until July 2027

Join Somerset Council's Workforce & Skills team and play an important role in supporting the successful delivery of funded programmes and projects. This is a great opportunity to develop your project coordination skills while helping ensure funding is managed effectively and projects achieve their intended outcomes.
About the Role
As a Workforce & Skills Officer, you'll provide project and administrative support across a range of workforce and skills initiatives. Working closely with colleagues, partners and funding bodies, you'll help monitor progress, maintain accurate records, coordinate project activity and support reporting requirements to ensure projects are delivered successfully and compliantly.
How You'll Make a Difference
- Support the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of workforce and skills projects.
- Maintain project records, documentation and audit trails to support compliance requirements.
- Assist with the preparation of project reports, claims, returns and performance information.
- Help coordinate commissioned activities and support contract management processes.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential issues, risks or areas for improvement.
- Contribute to communication, publicity and stakeholder engagement activities linked to funded programmes.
What You'll Bring
- Experience in a project coordination, project support or administrative role.
- Knowledge and understanding of project management principles.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, organise information and maintain accurate records.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence working with colleagues, stakeholders and members of the public.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications and other business systems.
- Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and support practical solutions.
- A Level, NVQ Level 3 qualification, or relevant work experience aligned to the role.
