The working Master Electrician will be responsible for maintenance/construction activities around all voltages (up to 345kV) substation and transmission lines. This position is a key contributor to the Paradigm team through both leadership and project execution. A key component will be to obtain Master Electrician licenses in various states and sign on as the Master Electrician of Record for the Company in those states. Hold or obtain Master Electrician licenses in various jurisdictions and sign on as the Master Electrician of Record on the Company’s Electrical Contractor’s Licenses. Oversee maintenance/construction on electrical collection systems including underground cable faults, pad-mount transformers (including fuses, bushings, and terminations), switchgears, splices, wiring up to 34.5kV, substation riser terminations, scan, test HV, MV and LV cables. May lead, train, and instruct 3-5 crew members in safe work practices for the assigned tasks. Oversee substation switching and LOTO. Troubleshoot and/or test electrical components and systems. Oversee service on underground collection systems, substations, or fiber optic sensing and control systems. Replace worn or malfunctioning components. Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures. Ensure the proper functioning of all electrical units on the job site. Ensure scheduled checks for spotting any malfunctions. Oversee appropriate use and handling of electrical testing and repair equipment. Oversee completion of all tasks as assigned by the supervising manager. Maintain a log of electrical repair and maintenance works. Licensed Master Electrician Minimum five (5) years’ experience working in the electrical utility industry. Valid Driver’s License, CDL a plus. Understanding of all stages of installation, maintenance, repair and inspection of systems and service work in new or remodeled substations. Ability to communicate effectively by written and verbal means. Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet-based program navigation. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions with precise execution. Ability to read, interpret and understand drawings and schematics. Proven experience in a field base role with limited supervisory interaction. Our benefits cover you and your family on day one!
