As an Innovation Community within the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), we collaborate with over 300 partners across industry, academia, and research institutes. Together, we forge dynamic, long-term partnerships to develop innovative solutions that meet Europe's growing demand for raw materials. About the Role We are looking for a motivated Working Student (m/f/d) in Public Affairs to support our team in stakeholder engagement, legislative monitoring, and event organisation. This role offers hands-on experience in stakeholder mapping, EU policy analysis, and public affairs communications, providing you with the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects and develop your skills in a dynamic, international environment. Key Tasks & Responsibilities Stakeholder Database Management Update and maintain the EIT RawMaterials Master Stakeholders database (over 1,000 contacts from EU institutions, industry, academia, startups, and member states). Ensure accurate and current contact information; support integration into the company CRM. Legislative Monitoring & Analysis Track the Critical Raw Materials Act legislative procedure and stakeholders’ positions. Monitor social media, press releases, official EU documents, and committee updates. Research, analyse, and summarise EU reports and legislation Summarise legislative documents for internal briefings Event & Meeting Support Support the organisation of the EIT RawMaterials Policy Advisory Board Participation and note-taking in X-KIC, EU Affairs Group, Comms, and Outreach meetings Maintain and streamline the EU Outreach Dropbox folder for efficient document management. Outreach & Communication Prepare and update standard presentation templates for outreach activities. Benchmark media activities of other EIT KICs and analyse communication strategies. Prepare and curate event intelligence lists for colleagues and leadership Reporting & Documentation Prepare comprehensive reports on EU initiatives, legislation, and sector developments. Draft position papers and partnership fiches as required. Provide quarterly outreach activity updates for the Board. Event Participation & Intelligence Attend relevant workshops and events, representing the team when needed. Conduct stakeholder intelligence for major events (e.g., EIT RawMaterials Summit, Raw Materials Week). Identify and invite relevant speakers for events based on stakeholder mapping . Collaboration & Liaison Support communication colleagues with intelligence tasks (events, speakers, presentations). Liaise with external partners (e.g., Belgian Presidency of the Council) for event support and recognition. Requirements Ongoing university studies in Political Science, European Affairs, Public Policy, International Relations, or a related field. Level of Study: Candidates should be Bachelor’s or Master’s students with at least 1,5-2 full years remaining in their studies. Strong interest in EU policy, raw materials, and sustainability topics. Excellent research and analytical skills. Proficiency in English (written and spoken); other EU languages are an asset. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Confident user of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and CRM systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team. Strong communication skills and willingness to participate in meetings and events. Flexibility to support urgent tasks and adapt to shifting priorities.
