Support the District’s Water Use Permit (WUP) Bureau managing multiple tasks and priorities in fast-paced, team-oriented environment. As part of the Water Use Compliance team, the WUP Compliance Technician is responsible for assisting permittees with data submittals, respond to Demand Management calls and ensure permits issued meet established quality standards. Starting Compensation:
Business Process Technician 1 $15.15- $17.25
Business Process Technician 2 $16.14- $18.37
Business Process Technician 3 $17.19- $19.56
Business Process Technician 4 $18.31- $21.09
Business Process Technician 5 $19.50- $22.19
The starting salary range for the Business Process Technician position reflects the minimum to 25.1% of the compensation. The starting salary will be based on the education and experience of the successful candidate. The District conducts annual performance evaluations that may award applicable pay increases based on positive employee performance.
Essential Functions
- Oversee and monitor Water Use Permits to ensure compliance requirements are met
- Assist permittees with routine permit maintenance and data submittal
- Respond to Demand Management phone calls and take public complaints
- Process letters for violations
- Quality assurance for all issued water permits to confirm correct report coding
- Review meter accuracy tests and handle aspects of Special Conditions on Water Use Permits
- Scan documents received related to Permit Compliance
Working Conditions
Employee works in a standard office environment. Occasional travel usually during the workday is required. Performs continuous repetitive tasks (to include keyboarding) with one or both hands. Occasionally lifts and carries objects up to 10 pounds. Occasionally requires bending and reaching above shoulder level. May spend time out in the field in remote areas. Possible travel to other offices. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Employee may be subject to call-in outside of regularly scheduled work hours, or required to be on call, including on nights, weekends or holidays, to respond to emergency management activities or other incidents requiring rapid response in support of District operations.

Business Process Technician 1
- High School Diploma or equivalent (or higher)
- Valid driver’s license
Business Process Technician 2
- High School Diploma or equivalent and Two (2) years related experience
- Valid driver’s license
Business Process Technician 3
- High School Diploma or equivalent and Four (4) years related experience
- Valid driver’s license
Business Process Technician 4
- Associate's degree, or higher and Five (5) years related work experience OR High School Diploma and Seven (7) years related work experience
- Valid driver’s license
Business Process Technician 5
- Bachelors degree (or higher) and Six (6) years related work experience OR Associate's degree (or higher) and Eight (8) years related work experience OR High School diploma and Ten (10) years related work experience.
- Valid driver’s license

Applicants who are within 30 days of graduation, if selected are not allowed to start until all minimum qualifications are met.
Additional Details
The primary work location for this position is out of the Tampa, FL office. This position is eligible for overtime for hours worked over 40 hours, in a week.
