Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic Band 7 Physiotherapist to join our Mental Health Physiotherapy Service. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinician to develop their leadership skills while delivering high-quality, person-centred care across inpatient and community mental health services.
You will provide specialist physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation, working within a multidisciplinary team to improve physical health, wellbeing, and recovery outcomes for service users.
The role includes managing a varied caseload, supporting service development, and providing supervision and mentorship to junior staff and students. You will work closely with senior colleagues to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based care.
We are looking for a motivated individual with strong clinical reasoning, communication, and organisational skills. Experience in mental health, rehabilitation, inpatient, or community settings is desirable.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the Trust's values and behaviours and be able to travel between sites as required.
Main duties of the job
Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for adults and older adults across inpatient and community mental health services.
Manage a complex caseload, delivering evidence-based, person-centred interventions to improve physical health, wellbeing, and recovery.
Develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans, setting and reviewing goals with service users and the multidisciplinary team.
Provide specialist advice, education, and support to service users, carers, and healthcare professionals.
Lead and contribute to multidisciplinary working, care planning, risk assessment, and discharge planning.
Supervise, mentor, and support junior staff, support workers, and students, promoting high standards of clinical practice.
Contribute to service development, quality improvement, audit, governance, and the implementation of best practice.
Maintain accurate clinical records, demonstrate professional accountability, and ensure compliance with HCPC standards, Trust policies, and relevant legislation.
