This role sits within GE Aerospace Global Security / Crisis Management and is based in Evendale, Ohio. The Aerospace Response Center (ARC) operates in a 24/7/365 environment to continuously monitor, assess, and respond to risk events that could affect GE Aerospace operations worldwide. The ARC partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders to coordinate timely response actions and maintain communication during incidents.

Role Overview

The Aerospace Response Center (ARC) Watch Officer-1 oversees day-to-day ARC operations in rotating shifts, ensuring continuous monitoring and response to risk events impacting GE Aerospace. Working in coordination with ARC staff, the Watch Officer identifies, evaluates, and responds to potential threats across multiple risk areas and supports mitigation strategies aligned to the GE Aerospace crisis management plan and associated standard work.

This position requires strong judgment in high-stakes, time-sensitive environments, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a commitment to continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to standard work that strengthens process efficiency and organizational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Risk Monitoring & Assessment: Monitor and assess risk events impacting GE Aerospace across product, security, infrastructure, reputational risk, and cyber domains.
• Incident Coordination: Coordinate with multiple internal teams to ensure effective response, communication, and collaboration during incidents and emerging events.
• Rapid Decision-Making: Make timely decisions in high-stakes environments, prioritizing tasks and mitigating risks to drive successful outcomes.
• Crisis Plan Execution: Adhere to internal crisis management plans, standards, and regulations; implement GE Aerospace response and global security operations processes.
• Crisis Triage Operations: Support crisis triage efforts including managing phone lines, security tools, case management systems, emergency notification systems, and security distribution lists.
• Traveler Support: Provide real-time support and guidance to GE Aerospace travelers, addressing safety and security concerns during travel.
• Training & Coaching: Conduct training sessions for ARC personnel, including analysts and other watch officers, to reinforce operating rhythms and standard work.
• Special Assignments: Complete special projects, assignments, and additional duties as required.
• Professional Operating Behaviors: Maintain transparency, humility, and professionalism in all interactions, especially during stressful or sensitive events.
• Tools Proficiency: Use Microsoft Office effectively and demonstrate the ability to operate in a challenging, high-stress environment.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in a related field (e.g., Security Management, Risk Management, International Relations, or Political Science), or a High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of experience in a related field, plus 6 years of experience in a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC)/watch operations environment (or equivalent security operations/crisis monitoring experience).
• Global Security Knowledge: Strong understanding of global security issues and risk mitigation strategies
• Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively under pressure
• Analytical Judgment: Ability to analyze complex information and make sound decisions
• Shift Work: Ability to work one of three different 8-hour shifts in a 24/7/365 operational environment, including on-call availability
• Citizenship: Must be a United States citizen
• Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance
