Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Aggregates Production Manager to lead safe, efficient, and cost-effective production across multiple mining operations producing a combined 1+ million tons annually.
This role provides direct leadership over quarry, crushing, screening, and load-out operations at multiple sites while ensuring full compliance with MSHA regulations, environmental permits, and company safety standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operational leader with strong production discipline, safety leadership, and the ability to standardize best practices across sites.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & MSHA Compliance
● Champion a zero-incident safety culture across all assigned MSHA Metal/Non-Metal mine sites.
● Ensure compliance with 30 CFR Parts 46, 47, 50, 56, and 57, including training, workplace exams, and reporting.
● Lead and participate in:
o Workplace examinations
o Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
o Incident and near-miss investigations
o Corrective action tracking
● Serve as a primary site leader during MSHA inspections, audits, and follow-ups.
● Ensure compliance with environmental permits, dust control plans, and reclamation requirements.
Production & Operations Management
● Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly production planning across multiple quarry sites.
● Coordinate drilling, blasting, crushing, screening, stockpiling, and load-out activities.
● Standardize operating procedures and best practices across all locations.
● Optimize plant throughput, uptime, and product quality.
● Monitor inventory levels to meet customer demand.
● Support operations running extended shifts, including nights & weekends
Maintenance & Equipment Coordination
● Partner with maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
● Review and prioritize preventive maintenance programs, wear-part usage, and shutdown planning.
● Support equipment upgrades, plant modifications, and capital improvement projects.
● Coordinate contractor activity for specialized services as needed.
Leadership & Team Development
● Directly manage leadmen and the production team across multiple locations.
● Develop talent through coaching, training, and performance management.
● Promote accountability, communication, and teamwork across geographically separated teams.
● Support operator training for mobile equipment, plant operations, and safety compliance.
Cost Control & Performance Metrics
· Manage and control production costs, including labor, fuel, consumables, and contractors.
● Track and analyze KPIs such as:
o Tons per hour
o Cost per ton
o Equipment availability and utilization
o Safety performance indicators
● Prepare production reports, forecasts, and budget input for operations leadership.
Qualifications
● 5–10+ years of experience in aggregates, mining, or heavy materials production required.
● 3+ years in a supervisory or management role at an MSHA Metal/Non-Metal operation required.
● Strong working knowledge of MSHA regulations and mine safety systems.
● Experience managing high-volume crushing and screening operations.
● Proven ability to lead teams across multiple sites.
● Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
● Proficiency with production reporting, scheduling, and KPI tracking.
● Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
● Regular presence in quarry and plant environments with exposure to dust, noise, uneven terrain, and weather.
● Ability to walk plant structures, climb ladders, and inspect active operations.
● Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as operational demands require.
● Ability to travel regularly between assigned sites.
