Agricultural Field Service Technician

Location: Gore, Southland, New Zealand

A growing agricultural machinery business in Gore, Southland is seeking an experienced, Fully Qualified Diesel / Agricultural Mechanic with hands-on John Deere tractor experience.

***John Deere experience is essential for this position.

The successful candidate will have practical experience servicing, diagnosing, fault-finding and repairing John Deere tractors and will be comfortable working with the technical systems and machinery associated with the brand.

The role will initially be workshop-based before progressing into a Field Service Technician position, providing service and repair support to farming customers on-site.

Required experience:

• Recognised Diesel / Agricultural Mechanic qualification

• Strong hands-on experience working on John Deere tractors

• Experience servicing and repairing John Deere equipment

• Approximately 5–10 years’ post-apprenticeship experience

• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills

• Agricultural machinery experience

• Experience with tractors, farm machinery and forage harvesters

• Ability to work independently in the field

• Full driver's licence

• Strong English communication skills

John Deere dealer experience and/or formal John Deere technical training would be highly advantageous.
