AI Engineer (Full-Time | San Francisco | Multimodal and Agentic Systems)

We're hiring an AI Engineer for an enterprise software company applying multimodal and agentic AI to insurance claims. With more than $50M raised, the team is building production systems that reason across images, video, documents, calls, sensor data, policy knowledge, and structured operational information. The platform is already processing thousands of claims for major insurers and enterprise operators.

This is applied AI with immediate production responsibility. You will design agents, integrate models, build supporting software, and improve outcomes using real customer feedback. Strong engineering fundamentals matter as much as familiarity with the latest models.

Location: San Francisco Mission office, on-site Monday through Friday
Comp Range: $165K to $250K base plus competitive equity
Stage: Growth stage, more than $50M raised
Stack: Python, LLMs, prompt engineering, APIs, multimodal and agentic AI
Customers: Major insurers and enterprise operators

What You'll Own

• Model integration, orchestration, tools, and supporting services
• Evaluation, observability, and reliable behavior in production
• Connections to customer systems, APIs, and operational data

You Might Be a Fit If You…
• Are a strong Python engineer with production software experience
• Understand LLM application patterns, prompting, tools, and agents
• Have solid data structures, algorithms, and system design fundamentals
• Can investigate messy real-world failures and improve the full system
• Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Prefer applied problems with measurable outcomes over isolated research

Bonus If You've…
• Built multimodal AI or document-intelligence systems
• Developed evaluation frameworks for LLM applications
• Integrated models into enterprise production workflows
• Worked directly with customers on technical deployments
• Shipped quickly in a high-ownership startup environment
