About Snaplii

Snaplii is a profitable Toronto fintech with 400,000+ users and 500+ brand partners, including Walmart, Costco, DoorDash and Uber. We run one of Canada's most-used payment and rewards wallets, and we are building the payment layer that AI agents use to buy things.

The role

Most of our regression testing is already done by AI. We need someone who can run that setup, decide what it should test next, and catch what it misses. You will be the person who knows whether a release is safe to ship.

You take over a working test process from the person who built it, with a full handover, and a senior engineer on the team is your go-to while you settle in. After that, quality on the Snaplii app is yours. You work every day with our developers on one side and our customer support team on the other.

What you'll do

  • Test the Snaplii iOS and Android apps before every release, focusing on the flows where mistakes cost money: sign-up and login, top-ups, payments, refunds, and gift card purchase and redemption.
  • Use AI tools, mainly Claude and Codex, to write test cases, generate test data and keep the automated suites up to date, and check their output instead of trusting it blindly.
  • Grow our automated mobile tests and choose what is worth automating next.
  • Turn bugs into reports a developer can fix without asking you anything else, and follow each one until it is closed.
  • Take issues that users report to support, reproduce them, and explain back to the support team in plain words what happened and when it will be fixed.

What you'll learn

  • How a payments app is tested when real money moves, including the ugly cases: a payment that goes through twice, a refund that half arrives, a phone that loses signal mid-checkout.
  • How to build a QA practice where AI does most of the repetitive work and you do the judgement.
  • How releases, incidents and fixes work end to end in a small team, where you see the whole picture instead of one corner of it.

What we look for

  • About 1 to 2 years of hands-on QA experience on mobile apps (iOS, Android or both). Co-op and internship work counts.
  • Some experience with mobile test automation (for example Appium, Maestro, Detox, XCUITest or Espresso) or with AI-based testing. You don't need all of these. We want to see something you built and can talk through.
  • You already use AI tools in your daily work and can show us how.
  • You write clearly, and you can explain the same bug to an engineer and to a support agent.
  • You are patient with repetitive work and you don't let a bug go until it is fixed.
  • Mandarin and English, professional working proficiency. Our developers and support team work in both, and we verify both in the first call.
  • Able to work on-site in Etobicoke, Monday to Friday.

Compensation and support

  • Compensation: CAD $60,000 to $90,000 base salary, depending on experience.
  • AI tools: you get Claude and Codex, the tools the whole team works with every day, and every employee also has a monthly personal AI tool budget under our AI tools policy.
  • Immigration support: Snaplii provides LMIA and PNP employer sponsorship for team members who qualify.
  • Interview: a short screening call in both languages, then a hands-on session. We give you the Snaplii app and a flow to test, you bring whichever AI tools you use, and you show us how you find and report a bug. Then you meet the team.

Notices

  • This posting is for an existing vacancy.
  • We use AI tools to help screen, assess and organize applications. Final hiring decisions are made by people.
  • Applicants who are interviewed will hear from us about the outcome within 45 days of their final interview.
