Job Description

The Role

The Independent Aftermarket (IAM) Analyst leads performance analytics, revenue strategy support, forecasting, and decision support for the IAM business. This role translates sales, market, customer, financial, and operational data into insights that support business strategy, revenue generation, customer experience, and profitable growth. The analyst evaluates commercial opportunities, incentive effectiveness, forecast accuracy, and revenue opportunities, then recommends actions to improve business results. This fully qualified professional role requires independent judgment, effective prioritization, cross-functional influence, and analytical leadership.

What You’ll Do

  • Own recurring IAM performance reporting covering sales, revenue, volume, mix, year-over-year growth, forecast and plan performance, incentive progress, and strategic objectives.
  • Develop and maintain short- and long-term forecasts using historical performance, account activity, market trends, seasonality, product mix, promotions, incentive assumptions, strategic priorities, and business plans.
  • Support annual business planning, monthly operating reviews, quarterly updates, forecasting cycles, and strategic revenue planning.
  • Analyze actual results against forecasts, budgets, prior-year results, revenue targets, and strategic objectives to identify drivers, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Build scenario analyses and what-if models to evaluate pricing, incentives, promotions, account activity, network changes, market conditions, and other commercial decisions.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and management reports using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, EPICOR, mainframe applications, Structured Query Language (SQL)-based sources, or similar tools.
  • Manage monthly accruals, revenue-related adjustments, incentive reporting, and other activities that support accurate performance management.
  • Process, validate, and track ACDelco customer returns through final disposition while coordinating with the Memphis parts distribution center, CCRC return center, Customer Service, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Programs, distribution centers, and customers.
  • Monitor return aging, exceptions, credits, adjustments, claims, account balances, and unresolved transactions; research discrepancies; perform annual customer return-reserve balancing; and resolve variances before closeout.
  • Maintain audit-ready return documentation, recommend actions to reduce revenue leakage and process issues, improve data quality and automation, and present insights and recommendations to IAM leaders and cross-functional partners.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, marketing, analytics, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in sales analytics, commercial analytics, revenue planning, forecasting, business intelligence, finance, or sales operations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, pivot tables, formulas, and scenario modeling.
  • Working knowledge of mainframe systems and transaction-based research.
  • Experience developing performance reports, dashboards, forecasts, revenue plans, incentive analyses, or business-planning analyses.

What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience in the automotive, automotive parts, dealership, service, wholesale, or Independent Aftermarket industry.
  • Experience supporting a parts distribution center or centralized returns operation.
  • Experience with reserve or accrual accounting, GMAS audits, financial controls, or customer credit reconciliation.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Tableau, eSMART, or similar business-intelligence tools.
  • Experience with sales forecasting, revenue planning, incentive effectiveness, market analysis, customer economics, or customer performance reporting.
  • Familiarity with ACDelco national accounts, direct accounts, or Independent Aftermarket service-center business models.
  • Experience presenting analytical insights and strategic recommendations to senior leaders or cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly through written summaries, presentations, and verbal discussions.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities, collaborate effectively, and influence decisions without direct authority.
  • Strategic and commercial thinking, data interpretation and storytelling, customer and market insight, revenue-opportunity identification, problem-solving, sound judgment, process improvement, operational discipline, ownership, and accountability.
