Job Summary

The salary range for this position is $545,000 to $555,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined during the selection process and is based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, education, and internal equity.

Anesthesiologist – Mass General Brigham – Cooley Dickinson Hospital

Mass General Brigham Community Anesthesiology is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible anesthesiologist to join our collaborative team at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, Massachusetts.

Join a close-knit group of anesthesiologists and CRNAs providing high-quality anesthesia care across six operating rooms, multiple endoscopy locations and obstetric services. This is an opportunity to enjoy the collegiality and relationships of a community-based practice while remaining connected to the broader clinical resources and professional opportunities of Mass General Brigham.

Compensation & Benefits

• 5-day workweek, post-call days assigned for primary calls
• Base compensation of $545-$555k, with the opportunity to earn up to $50k-$100k+ annually with incentive/extra shifts
  • $75k total sign-on bonus
• Benefits include:
  • 10 weeks of time off
  • Significantly employer-subsidized medical/dental plans

  • Annual $5k for professional expenses
  • Annual employer contributions towards retirement plans through 403(b) match and MGB Cash Balance/pension plan valued at $15k-$40k+, dependent on age and years of service

Call Expectations

• 72 call shifts per year (45 weekday/9 total weekends)
• 9 first call / 9 second call shifts per quarter
• First call: 24 hours (home/pager call with ~20-minute return time as needed) + post call day off (Mon – Thurs & Sun call shifts)
• Second call: 24 hours (onsite until ~5:30 pm or when released and then available by phone. Rare call-back)

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Completion of an accredited Anesthesiology residency program
• Board certified or board eligible through the American Board of Anesthesiology
• Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Massachusetts
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to providing safe, compassionate, high-quality patient care
• Ability to work successfully within a multidisciplinary team
