Application Electrical Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Application Electrical Engineer to join our client's team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end techno-commercial support, focusing on cable channels, cable containment, and cable ladder solutions. Our client is a global leader in electrical power management and critical infrastructure solutions.

You will manage technical tasks from initial inquiry and proposal generation through to detailed drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM) creation, manufacturing coordination, and final project documentation.

Key Responsibilities (What You'll Do)

• Tendering & Proposal Generation: Lead tendering and Bill of Materials (BOM) activities for cable channel, cable containment, and cable ladder systems.
• Techno-Commercial Solutions: Deliver accurate techno-commercial proposals, engineering drawings, and technical submittals tailored to customer specifications.
• Order Execution: Handle technical tasks for incoming purchase orders, from drawing preparation through converting designs into BOMs and releasing them for production.
• RFQ Review & Specification Analysis: Read and evaluate customer RFQs, engineering drawings, and specifications to define project scope and implement proper product positioning and optimized costing.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with local assembly, manufacturing, operations, and quality departments to ensure smooth order execution, resolve technical queries, and drive process/product quality improvements.
• Vendor & Factory Liaison: Coordinate with internal factories for special requirements or local assembly adaptations to meet unique customer needs.
• Customer & Sales Alignment: Communicate closely with the sales team to address inquiries promptly and ensure the proposed offerings match end-user requirements and international standards.
• Project Documentation: Prepare final project documentation in compliance with customer order documentation lists.
• Cost Optimization: Participate in cost-out projects and local material sourcing/localization initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of progressive engineering experience in tendering, applications engineering, or order execution.
• Industry Focus: Proven track record working with multinational companies across the EMEA region, with strong knowledge of end-user standards in the Data Center and Oil & Gas (Onshore/Offshore) sectors (e.g., ARAMCO, ADNOC, ONGC).

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Drawings & Engineering Standards: Proficient in interpreting electrical layouts, single-line diagrams, and cable routing plans. Strong understanding of industry standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, NEMA, BS).
• Cable Management Expertise: In-depth knowledge of cable tray types (ladder, perforated, wire mesh) and materials (Galvanized Iron, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, FRP), including load capacity, spacing, and support design.
• Submittals & BOM: Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed technical submittals, handle client/consultant review comments, and generate accurate BOMs and cost estimations.
• Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, E3D, SolidWorks, SAP, and MS Office.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, close attention to detail, and excellent teamwork and communication skills.
