EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Undergraduate degree in Architectural Engineering, Architecture, or another qualifying architecture/engineering discipline that satisfies the contract requirements is required.

• Minimum five (5) years of relevant professional experience is required; approximately five (5) to ten (10) years of architectural design, facility management, or construction project management experience is preferred.

• Architectural licensure or other relevant professional credential is desirable but not required unless otherwise specified by the employing entity.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Strong ability to read, develop, and review architectural drawings, specifications, space plans, details, and technical requirements.

• Working knowledge of UFC, UFGS, applicable building/life-safety/accessibility criteria, and federal facility project delivery.

• Ability to integrate architectural requirements with structural and building-system disciplines and identify constructability or coordination issues.

• Strong communication, technical writing, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

• Japanese-language capability and GOJ/host-nation design/construction experience are highly desirable for this position.

ELIGIBILITY

• Open to qualified Japanese nationals/local residents, U.S. citizens, and other candidates legally eligible to work in Japan, subject to applicable contract, employment, immigration/SOFA, and host-nation requirements.
