Area General Manager - InterContinental Jaipur

We’re seeking an Area General Manager to lead InterContinental Jaipur in Jaipur, India. This is a senior leadership role, with the hotel acting as the base property for a wider Area General Manager portfolio across Southwest Asia.

Recently converted to InterContinental following a significant renovation, InterContinental Jaipur is a 218-room luxury hotel with strong MICE, wedding, leisure, transient and corporate demand. The hotel is performing well, with year-on-year growth across revenue, average rate and profitability, and the priority is to maintain momentum while continuing to strengthen its position as one of Jaipur’s leading luxury hotels.

In this role, you’ll lead the hotel’s overall performance, guest experience, owner relationship and team culture, while also taking on a broader area leadership remit. You’ll work closely with ownership, regional leadership and hotel teams to deliver continued commercial growth, operational excellence and strong brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the overall performance of InterContinental Jaipur, including revenue, profitability, guest experience and service delivery.
• Act as Area General Manager for a wider portfolio, using Jaipur as the base property.
• Maintain a strong, trusted relationship with ownership and owner representatives.
• Build on the hotel’s recent renovation and InterContinental conversion to drive continued market growth.
• Lead, coach and develop the hotel leadership team, supporting succession and internal talent development.
• Strengthen the hotel’s positioning across MICE, weddings, leisure, transient, retail and corporate segments.
• Ensure high standards of luxury service, colleague engagement and operational delivery.
• Partner with regional and functional teams to support commercial, operational and brand priorities.
• Maintain strong awareness of the Jaipur and Northern India luxury hospitality market.
• Support future growth across the Southwest Asia portfolio as the area remit expands.

On a daily basis, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the continued success of a high-performing luxury hotel, while influencing a wider portfolio and strengthening IHG’s presence in one of India’s key hospitality markets.

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience as a General Manager in luxury or upper-upscale hotels.
• Area General Manager, cluster or multi-property leadership experience would be highly preferred.
• Strong commercial capability, with experience driving revenue, profitability and market share.
• Experience leading hotels with significant MICE, wedding, leisure and corporate demand.
• Strong owner-management experience, with the credibility to build confidence and trust.
• Luxury hotel brand experience, ideally with InterContinental, Taj, Marriott or similar international hotel groups.
• Strong understanding of the Indian hospitality market, ideally with Northern India or Jaipur market exposure.
• Calm, mature and commercially confident leadership style.
• Ability to lead an experienced hotel team while continuing to raise performance standards.
• Fluency in English is required; Hindi language capability would be advantageous.
