As an Assistant Nurse Manager, you'll support a dynamic inpatient Behavioral Health service line caring for diverse patient populations, including Geriatric, General Adult Intensive Management, Child & Adolescent, and Dual Diagnosis patients.

What We're Looking For
- Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. BSN, preferred. Graduate Degree, preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of clinical RN experience, preferred. Prior demonstrated nursing leadership, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification:
- RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
- NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.
- Unit/Dept Specific Required Certifications.
- Additional Skills (required): Successful completion of generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Ability to successfully complete Leader Education & Training
What You'll Do
As Assistant Nurse Manager, you'll serve as a visible and approachable leader, providing both clinical and operational support to a high-performing Behavioral Health team. You'll collaborate closely with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary partners to ensure safe, effective, and therapeutic care delivery while fostering a positive work environment for team members.
In this role, you will:
- Support daily clinical and administrative operations across inpatient Behavioral Health services
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to nursing team members and support staff
- Assist with staffing coordination, scheduling, and resource management to support quality patient care
- Promote a safe therapeutic environment through crisis intervention, de-escalation support, and regulatory compliance oversight
- Partner with team members to drive patient safety, quality outcomes, and patient experience initiatives
- Support employee engagement, performance management, and professional development efforts
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and interdisciplinary partners to ensure coordinated patient care
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and compassionate patient-centered care
- Help ensure adherence to organizational, regulatory, and behavioral health standards and best practices
- Support care delivery for patients experiencing mental health conditions, substance use disorders, life stressors, and stress-related physical symptoms
- Serve as a visible leader and resource for staff, helping maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and supporting a 7:1 patient-to-RN ratio model
