The Assistant Professor of Childhood Education is a full-time, nine-month position to begin August 16, 2027. The successful candidate will join a vibrant team of faculty in a department growing in stature and recognized for excellence in teaching, research, faculty development, and student success. The Assistant Professor of Childhood Education will be expected to teach courses preparing teacher candidates to teach students from all linguistic and cultural backgrounds, including multilingual learners and students in bilingual or dual language programs; conduct research that results in peer-reviewed publications and professional presentations; pursue external funding through grant proposal submissions; participate in student advising and mentoring, including service on dissertation committees; collaborate with colleagues across departmental programs in teaching and service; and collaborate with PK-6 educators and schools related to clinical experiences for preservice teachers.
