Department of Management College of Business and Economics Assistant Professor Fall 2027 The Department of Management at California State University, Fullerton, invites applications for a tenure‐track Assistant Professor position in Operations and Supply Chain Management with an appointment to begin Fall 2027. Position CSUF faculty are teacher-scholars who bring research and creative discovery into the classroom and into individually mentored student experiences. They teach broadly in their programs, advise and mentor students, and contribute through service to the department, college, university, profession, and community. The successful candidate will teach introductory and advanced courses in Operations and Supply Chain Management at the undergraduate and graduate levels and may contribute to other Management courses as assigned. Depending on department needs, courses may include Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supply Management, Service Operations Management, Project Management, Logistics Management, Quality Management, and related subjects. The search is intentionally broad. Candidates from all areas of operations and supply chain management are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will maintain an active program of peer-reviewed scholarship appropriate for tenure; advise and mentor students; participate in department, college, university, and professional service; and contribute to productive relationships with industry, alumni, student organizations, and professional associations. Required Qualifications A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal doctorate in operations management, supply chain management, logistics, or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the time of appointment. ABD applicants may apply if all degree requirements will be completed before the appointment begins. Academic, research, and teaching preparation relevant to Operations and Supply Chain Management. Demonstrated commitment to and potential for excellence in university teaching. A record of, or clear potential for, peer-reviewed scholarly accomplishments appropriate to the rank of Assistant Professor. Ability to balance responsibilities in teaching, scholarship, and service. Potential to integrate appropriate technology, data, analytics, simulation, or other evidence-based practices into instruction. Ability and commitment to communicate and work effectively with students, staff, faculty, and external partners in a culturally and professionally varied environment. Demonstrated commitment to student success and inclusive excellence. Preferred Qualifications Professional or industry experience related to operations, supply chain, logistics, purchasing, service operations, project management, or a related area. Ability to contribute across more than one area of the Operations and Supply Chain Management curriculum. Experience developing productive relationships with industry, professional associations, alumni, or community organizations. The College and Department The Department of Management offers undergraduate and graduate coursework across several management disciplines. Faculty responsibilities include teaching, scholarship, student mentoring, and service. The Operations and Supply Chain Management curriculum includes operations, supply chains, logistics, services, projects, purchasing, analytics, quality management, and related areas. The College of Business and Economics is accredited by AACSB International at the undergraduate and master’s levels and offers a broad portfolio of undergraduate and graduate business programs. Compensation The Assistant Professor (Academic Year) classification salary range is $6,221 to $13,224 monthly (12 monthly payments per academic year). The anticipated hiring range is $11,029 to $11,250 per month. Salary offered is commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, the California Equal Pay Act prohibits employers from paying its employees less than those of the opposite sex and/or another race or ethnicity for substantially similar work ( https://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/california_equal_pay_act.htm ). Summer research grants, moving expenses, start‐up funds, and a reduced teaching load may be available.
