Associate Attorney, Civil Litigation

About the Role

Join an in-person civil litigation practice in Seattle as an Associate Attorney with responsibility for managing cases from intake through settlement or trial. You will have autonomy over your caseload, with support from paralegals and experienced colleagues.

What You'll Do

• Manage civil litigation matters from initiation through resolution, including employment law, school law, and general civil litigation cases.

• Draft and argue motions, conduct discovery, and take and defend depositions of parties, experts, and third parties.

• Attend hearings, argue motions, and prepare for and conduct bench and jury trials.

• Meet with clients to develop case strategies and negotiate and finalize settlements.

• Collaborate with colleagues on case strategy while independently directing your cases.

What We're Looking For

• At least 6 years of civil litigation experience, including motion practice, discovery, and independent caseload management.

• Strong legal writing and experience drafting and arguing motions through summary judgment.

• Deposition experience and the ability to manage cases with minimal supervision.

• Trial experience as first or second chair is preferred; demonstrated readiness to try cases is important.

• Background in employment law, school law, insurance defense, or general civil litigation is relevant.

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active Washington State Bar membership in good standing, or ability to obtain membership.

• Professional record without bar discipline or criminal convictions, and a consistent employment history or clear explanations for short tenures.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is $150,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
