The Associate Director of Product Renovation Strategy leads consumer-driven product renovation and product performance strategies across Tyson's portfolio. This role translates consumer, market, competitive, and product insights into actionable business strategies that strengthen brand performance, drive consumer preference, and unlock growth opportunities. The position serves as a strategic partner to R&D, Sensory, Marketing, Analytics, Consumer Insights, and Business Unit leadership to identify where renovation investments can create the greatest impact for consumers and the business.

Location: Springdale, Arkansas (Greater Northwest Arkansas). Relocation support may be provided for candidates who qualify under the Tyson Relocation Policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead consumer-led renovation strategy and flagship product performance tracking across brands and categories that strengthen brand competitiveness.
  • Build integrated product performance assessments by connecting consumer benchmarking, consumer online ratings and reviews, social listening, health app data, consumer complaints, and analytics product performance to guide strategic renovation decisions.
  • Identify product renovations to grow and improve market position.
  • Partner with R&D, Marketing, Consumer Insights, Analytics, Culinary, Packaging, and Quality teams to prioritize investments and influence portfolio decisions.
  • Present strategic recommendations and business cases to senior leadership teams.
  • Champion consumer-first decision making throughout the product development and renovation process.
  • Mentor team members and strengthen organizational capability in consumer-focused product strategy.

Education & Work Experience

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Psychology, Marketing Research, Sensory/Consumer Science or related field required. MBA, M.S., Ph.D., or relevant professional certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 10+ years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, 8+ years with a Master's degree, 6+ years with a Ph.D., or 18+ years in lieu of a degree. Minimum 2 years of people leadership experience required. Experience with frozen, refrigerated and shelf-stable food products required. Prior experience with Consumer need states, Claims research, Drivers of Liking, IHUTs, competitive intelligence, and integrated quantitative and qualitative research preferred.

Supervisory & Travel

Responsible for direct people leadership (1-5 direct reports), coaching, performance management, and talent development. Travel up to 25%.

Consumer & Business Strategy (Consumer-led renovation strategy, brand positioning, competitive differentiation, portfolio strategy, business acumen and P&L awareness)

Consumer & Product Insights (Consumer need states, claims research, category drivers of liking, qualitative and quantitative research, IHUTs, competitive intelligence, trend identification, opportunity mapping)

Execution Excellence (Proactive execution, ownership with urgency, strategic project leadership, prioritization, cross-functional influence)

Leadership & Enterprise Capability (Executive communication, strategic thinking, change leadership, talent development, problem solving, decision making)
