The Associate Product Manager at Confidential Client is responsible for owning a defined area of the payments platform, driving product discovery, prioritization, and execution to deliver impactful customer and business outcomes. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, and other teams to develop high-quality software solutions, with a focus on understanding customer problems, making data-informed decisions, and continuously improving the product and processes.

- Own a defined area of the payments product end-to-end (examples: settlement, reconciliation against dealer accounting systems, disputes, processor integrations, or payments reporting).
- Lead product discovery: run customer interviews, usability testing, and experiments; gather and synthesize qualitative and quantitative feedback.
- Define clear product requirements, success metrics, and launch criteria; prioritize initiatives based on customer value, commercial impact, and technical feasibility.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Customer Success, Sales, and Support to deliver high-quality software on reliable timelines.
- Measure post-launch outcomes, iterate to improve product performance, and drive continuous improvement.
- Understand and own the economics of your area: quantify revenue, costs, risks, and present commercial tradeoffs to stakeholders.
- Communicate priorities, risks, and progress clearly to technical and business audiences.
You do not need prior payments experience. You will need to learn a complicated domain quickly, be precise about money, and think commercially by instinct.
- 1–3 years of experience in Product Management or a closely related role within SaaS or enterprise software. Candidates from payments operations, implementation, solutions engineering, or business analysis where the work was substantively product-focused will be considered.
- Proven ability to deliver measurable customer and business outcomes through cross-functional product development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable making data-informed decisions and defining product metrics.
- Experience conducting customer discovery (interviews, usability testing, experiments) and translating insights into product work.
- Experience writing product requirements, prioritizing roadmaps, and owning initiatives from discovery through launch.
- Proficiency with modern product and design tools — familiarity with AI-assisted tools is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to align teams and move work forward in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in automotive technology or enterprise SaaS ecosystems.
- Familiarity with API platforms, integrations, or developer experience initiatives.
- Background in CX optimization, automation, or partner/third-party ecosystems.
- Pay range: $75,222–$94,027 per year (Long Beach, CA).
