Associate Solicitor – Antitrust & Competition

My client, a leading Irish law firm, is seeking a Mid-Level/Senior Associate to join their market-leading Antitrust & Competition team. The group advises domestic and international clients on complex competition law, regulatory and market compliance matters across a broad range of sectors, and this is a genuine opportunity to build a strategic advisory practice at a firm with real depth in this area.

The Role

You'll advise on a broad range of competition and regulatory matters, including:

• Cartels, anti-competitive agreements, and abuse of dominance investigations
• Vertical agreements and distribution systems
• Merger control filings before the European Commission and CCPC
• Foreign direct investment (FDI) and foreign subsidies regulatory assessments
• State aid notifications, investigations, and grant scheme design (GBER, SGEI)
• Digital markets and digital services regulation
• Compliance programmes and dawn raid preparedness

You'll work closely with colleagues at all levels, take a lead role on merger filings and multi-jurisdictional matters, and act as a trusted adviser on strategically important client work.

The Person

• Qualified Solicitor in Ireland or England & Wales, with 2+ years' PQE gained in a leading law firm, competition authority, or regulatory practice
• Strong grounding in EU competition law, merger control, and antitrust investigations; state aid experience an advantage but not essential
• Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and communication skills
• Able to manage matters independently while working collaboratively within larger teams
• Commercially aware, with a client-focused mindset
