Position Overview:

Boeing India Engineering is looking for Associate Structural Analysis Engineer (Interior Stress) at Boeing India, Chennai. This position will focus on providing support to Boeing commercial airplane customers.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform structural analysis using established Analysis tools (hand-calculations methods) and using CAE/FEA tools to validate that components and assemblies meet requirements and specifications

• Support test planning, execution and data review for structural verification (component, sub

system, and system levels). Prepare test procedures and capture results to substantiate requirements for customers and regulatory agencies

• Review test plans and test reports of the seats supplier

• Perform and review detailed structural analysis to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Boeing tools.

• Evaluate structural integrity of aircraft components by way of classical hand calculations and, finite element method

• Assist in preparation and maintenance of technical documentation (design reports, test plans/procedures, qualification plans, drawings, and change requests).

• Support Gated Reviews to validate the quality and completeness of work packages

• Familiar with regulatory framework (FAA and EASA), for warranting safety and regulatory compliance.

• Supports structural design and configuration development.

• Performs trade studies to optimize structure and meet program requirements.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil,

Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)

• Experience in stress analysis of various aircraft interior commodities.

• Experience with structural analysis of metallic and composite structures

• Experience in utilizing FEM software (e.g., PATRAN/NASTRAN, Hyperworks)

• Experience in utilizing industry CAD systems – CATIA and ENOVIA

• Knowledge of airplane operating environments. Robust understanding of engineering fundamentals such as material properties, Free-body diagrams, structural loads and analysis methods

• Candidate demonstrates excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Good verbal and written communication skills to liaise with several Stakeholders

• Ability to work across functional teams and organizations

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience or training with computer programming languages (e.g., Matlab, Python, Visual Basic).

Typical Education & Experience:

• Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (e.g, Master’s with 4+ Years of experience).
