THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE Structured Finance Portfolio Management is looking for an Associate based out of Manchester or Edinburgh . This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to move into a career within Structured Finance (“SF”) or develop their risk analysis, customer engagement and negotiation skills. You will support Directors, Associate Directors and Senior Associates with clients across a range of asset classes within Structured Finance mid-market; Financial Sponsors/Private Equity, Growth Capital and Corporate Structured Debt Solutions and therefore offers an unparalleled view across SF. The portfolio is made up of a mix of dynamic and complex clients which makes them interesting and generally very active including making acquisitions, rolling out new sites, expanding into new territories or developing new products or services. You’ll be part of a close-knit and highly experienced team providing you the ability to learn and develop in a safe environment. If you have a Excellent understanding of Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cashflow and credit risk are keen to develop and have an enquiring mind then this is a perfect role for you. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for: Supporting Associate Director and Director with a portfolio of Corporate clients in: the monitoring of the portfolio including analysis of monthly financial information and non-financial risk such as global macroeconomic and geo-political risks supporting client growth aspirations through monitoring and evaluation of actions such as acquisitions and checking the comply with controls within loan agreements, managing internal drawdown processes etc.. regular reporting to Risk and updating credit and monitoring systems in line with credit policies supporting client engagement with regular dialogue and face to face meetings and client strategy plans attend and get involved with internal stakeholder meetings, supporting ongoing data quality, data requests, with a radically simpler mindset to the ongoing review of processes, procedures and digitalisation WHAT YOU’LL BRING Our people are our greatest strength. Professional Experience Relevant experience in a Corporate Banking, Corporate Finance or wider financial services environment, with exposure to lending, credit or transaction execution activity (Required) Experience supporting financial analysis, credit assessment, deal execution or portfolio management activity, with the ability to work accurately under time-critical deadlines (Required) Education Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience in finance, accounting, economics, business or a related discipline (Preferred) Accountancy qualifications or similar professional qualifications are advantageous, but not essential (Preferred) Hard Skills Good credit and financial analysis capability, including financial modelling skills or demonstrable transferable skills and the ability to develop this competency quickly (Required) Knowledge of corporate banking or structured finance products, credit processes and the financial services market, with great attention to risk and control requirements (Required) Great working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn internal systems, processes and reporting requirements quickly (Required) An ability to meet deadlines and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment (Required) Knowledge of Loan Markets Association legal documentation (Preferred) Ability to link and apply general knowledge and macro events and how they relate to clients and our assessment of credit risk (Preferred) Soft Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across deal teams and build effective internal and external stakeholder relationships Highly organised and detail-oriented, with resilience, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Proactive, accountable and eager to learn, with the confidence to seek feedback, take initiative and contribute positively to team performance and customer outcomes WE VALUE YOUR IMPACT At Santander, your contribution matters. Salary Range: £41,808.00 - £62,712.00 per annum (depending on experience) This salary range represents the expected remuneration for the role. Annual salary is based on a standard 35-hour working week. Actual salary offered will depend on skills, experience, qualifications and location.
