Associate Veterinarian

We are working on behalf of a privately owned, doctor-run small animal hospital in Palm Desert, CA that is looking to welcome an Associate Veterinarian to its team. Because the practice is owned and run by vets, decisions are made with clinicians in mind, not a boardroom.

It is also the only Fear Free certified hospital in the area, which means calmer patients, calmer clients, and a calmer team. The hospital operates out of a beautiful, modern, purpose-designed facility with 6 exam rooms and is seriously well equipped, with CT, ultrasound, digital X-ray, and an in-house lab. CT in a general practice setting is rare, so if you enjoy working cases up properly in-house, you will feel right at home.

The doctor team is small and tight knit, currently 2 DVMs, so you would be joining at a stage where you can really make your mark. You will be supported by senior, experienced vets who are keen to mentor, and a highly trained technician team. The schedule is typically a 4-day week, with 3 longer days or part-time (2 days) also considered. There are zero weekends, zero after-hours, zero on-call shifts, and zero emergency work, giving you a genuine work-life balance.

This role would suit a DVM with 2+ years of GP or preventive care experience who loves client communication and wants to keep growing across multiple areas of medicine.

About You

• DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US
• You hold, or are eligible for, licensure in California
• 2+ years of general practice or preventive care experience
• You love client communication and building lasting relationships
• Diagnostically minded and keen to practice gold-standard medicine
• Collaborative team player who values a calm, low-stress working environment
