With dealerships across the country and a strong reputation for quality and service, we are looking for a skilled Heavy Diesel Technician to join our Timaru team. We're offering a guaranteed 45 hours per week at $40-$48 per hour depending on your experience, plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus and up to $5,000 to help with relocation costs. On top of that you'll get a tax-free tool allowance of $1.50 per hour, a tax-free $25 meal allowance on days over 10 hours worked, and $50 per day when you're on call. The overtime rate of time and a half will also kick in after 9 hours worked a day. About the Role As a Heavy Diesel Technician, you’ll play a key role in keeping our customers’ trucks and commercial vehicles running safely and efficiently. Working in our well-equipped Timaru workshop, you’ll diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and complete servicing across a range of heavy diesel vehicles. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair faults across diesel engines and vehicle systems Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems Complete job documentation and maintain accurate service records Communicate with Service Advisors and customers regarding repairs Maintain a safe, clean and efficient workshop environment What We’re Looking For Qualified Heavy Diesel / Automotive Technician Minimum 3 years’ experience working with diesel engines or heavy vehicles Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship Good communication and teamwork skills Commitment to safety and workshop best practices Why Join Keith Andrews?
