Job Overview & Responsibilities As a Recurring Avionics Electrical Component Engineer you will be supporting and maintaining hardware designs for the Vulcan and Atlas Vehicles. Responsibilities may include: Becoming the Certified Responsible Engineer (CRE) for flight avionics components, potentially including complex controllers, actuators, batteries, sensors and transducers. Developing and maintaining component requirements, including functional, physical, and environmental test. Working with your hardware suppliers in support of component testing. Working with your suppliers to address, troubleshoot, and resolve issues or failures. Analyzing and documenting out-of-family data when observed. Supporting integration of your components onto the vehicle. Resolving issues that occur during launch site testing that relate to your hardware. Supporting reviews related to systems and components. Partnering with your supply chain colleagues to manage contracts, support statement of work creation, provide engineering estimates, and negotiate with your suppliers. We are looking for team members with interest in the space industry who enjoy solving complex problems and can remain diligent and organized when facing challenges. Required Education Bachelor Required Years of Experience None required Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, coordination and presentation skills. Self-motivated to manage and complete assignments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to succeed in a team environment with stakeholders from different organizations. Understanding of electrical components, connectors, and wire harnesses. Ability to review, edit, and provide feedback on complex engineering drawings, parts lists, engineering analyses, test procedures, supplier statements of work, engineering estimates, or schematics. Awareness of design principles for circuit schematics, printed wiring board layouts, and circuit board production. Ability to brief customers, vendors, and chief engineers on complicated problems and solutions. Available to be on call for launch-related issues outside of business hours. Available to travel for 1 week at a time, at least twice per year. Preferred Qualifications Experience working Avionics systems. Knowledge of program/project management (schedules, budgets, etc.). Ability to work with NASA, Air force and Aerospace. Attention to detail. Ability to present in front of customers and working with customers. General data review skills. Ability to work effectively with others. Be willing to acknowledge fault immediately and learn from the mistake. Be open to constructive feedback. Able to set aside egos and emotions in order to get the job done and make decisions in the best interest of the program. Must be obtain and maintain an active DOD Secret Clearance if required. US Citizenship is required. Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denver only): $67,895.00 - $113,159.00 Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay. What makes ULA different?
