Backend Developer

Job Summary

The Backend Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust and scalable backend systems that power data-driven and AI applications. This role requires strong expertise in Java or Golang, as well as a solid understanding of databases, distributed systems, and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing APIs, optimizing high-performance applications, and integrating backend services with Big Data and AI pipelines. Success in this role requires strong collaboration skills, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable code within deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable and efficient backend solutions to support Big Data and AI-driven applications.
• Develop and maintain server-side logic primarily using Java (Spring Boot) and Golang.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, data engineers, and AI/ML teams to integrate user-facing elements and data pipelines with backend services.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and gRPC services to enable high-performance data exchange.
• Optimize applications for concurrency, performance, and high availability.
• Write efficient, reusable, and testable code with proper documentation.
• Manage and optimize relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch).
• Ensure backend systems are secure, fault-tolerant, and cloud-ready.
  
  

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of backend development experience, with proven expertise in Java (Spring Boot) or Golang.
• Excellent in PHP (Laravel), Java, Node.js and the J2EE, Spring Boot Framework.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, concurrency, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS preferred – EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, Kubernetes).
• Hands-on experience with streaming/messaging platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Ability to write reusable Java libraries.
• Familiarity with MVC, JDBC, and RESTful concepts.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Demonstrates a strong team-oriented mindset and the ability to work effectively both collaboratively and independently.
• Experience with the following technologies: Spring Boot, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, MySQL, AWS services such as EC2 and S3, RabbitMQ and/or Kafka, OAuth 2 and JWT
