This position is eligible for:

Full-Time: Sign-on Bonus - $600 at 75 days and $600 at 1 year of employment.

Part-Time: Sign-on Bonus - $600 at 75 days and $600 at 1 year of employment.

Relocation assistance if moving from a minimum of a 50 miles radius.

The Behavior Consultant in Behavior Management Services is responsible to develop behavior support plans for individuals that provide training, supervision, or assistance in appropriate expression of emotions, desires, compliance, assertiveness, and acquisition of socially appropriate behaviors and the reduction of behaviors that decrease quality of life, independence, and meaningful participation in the community.


Requirements

The Behavior Consultant in Behavior Management Services is responsible to develop behavior support plans for individuals that provide training, supervision, or assistance in appropriate expression of emotions, desires, compliance, assertiveness, and acquisition of socially appropriate behaviors and the reduction of behaviors that decrease quality of life, independence, and meaningful participation in the community.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Essential Functions


  • Complete functional analysis of targeted behaviors by directly observing the individual, reviewing records, and interviews with knowledgeable informants.
  • Develop and implement behavior support plans focused on positive behavior support.
  • Provide training to each person implementing the behavior support plan in the techniques and procedures required for implementing the plan.
  • Submit billing and supporting documentation in a timely manner per supervisors’ directive and waiver/contract requirements
  • Ensure budget needs are tracked and met
  • Ability to use electronic medical records, and submit information in a timely manner
  • Complete written monthly reviews regarding the efficacy of the behavior support plan and adjust as necessary.
  • In a timely manner, share monthly reviews with the individual’s support team.
  • Effectively communicate with additional service providers, case managers and other members of the individual’s support team regarding the well-being of individuals served.
  • Respond in a timely and sensitive manner to all concerns and problems that arise.
  • Adheres to all applicable policy and procedures in the implementation of the behavior support services
  • Develops and maintains professional networks and relationships.
  • Annually, obtains at least ten (10) continuing education hours related to the practice of behavior support.
  • Duties as assigned.





General Responsibilities

  • Assists in promoting the health and safety of individuals served by LOGAN, visitors, and other staff.
  • Serves as role model for individuals served and other staff.
  • Serves as an advocate and protects the human rights of all individuals served at all times.
  • Participates in training as required by supervisor.
  • Facilitates professional growth by keeping current on new philosophy, research, technology, behavior strategies, etc.
  • Serves on internal and external committees as assigned.
  • Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.



QUALIFICATIONS


Education

  • Must possess one of the following:
  • Master’s Degree in:
  • Clinical psychology, counseling psychology, school psychology or another applied health service area of psychology
  • Special education
  • Social work
  • Counseling
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor


Experience

  • A minimum of two years’ experience providing behavior support to individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.


  • Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a variety of personalities, including clients, parents, families, guardians, and other providers.
  • Experience in developing and conducting training
  • Ability to sit & use computer keyboard
  • Ability to kneel, bend, & reach repeatedly during a therapy session
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds throughout sessions
  • Ability to accurately interpret and consistently communicate policies and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and use sound judgment.
  • Requires a high degree of tact, honesty, confidentiality, maturity, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to be creative in exploring new and innovative ideas.
