About the Role

We are looking for a Cable Engineer to the design and engineer the underground high-voltage cable connections. As a Cable Engineer, you will design underground high-voltage cable routes and perform route studies for new and existing connections.

You will translate technical requirements into practical cable designs, carry out engineering calculations, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations. In addition, you will support the technical quality assurance of designs and contribute to continuous improvement within the engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design underground high-voltage cable routes.
• Perform route studies for new and existing connections.
• Translate technical requirements into practical cable designs.
• Carry out engineering calculations.
• Coordinate with stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Support the technical quality assurance of designs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement within the engineering team.

Required Skills

• Completed Bachelor's or HBO degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in high-voltage underground cable engineering and route design.
• Experience working with Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is a must.
• Ability to perform and verify electrical, thermal, mechanical, and short-circuit cable calculations.
• Experience producing and reviewing technical documentation, drawings, and engineering deliverables.
• Knowledge of IEC and NEN standards and regulations.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering projects and various stakeholders.
• Great command of English, Dutch language is a strong bonus.
• Knowledge of relevant Dutch regulations and standards is a significant plus.
• Experience with Systems Engineering, verification, and validation processes is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is considered a plus.
