Your Role You will bring your skills, knowledge and confidence to the role of Career Medical Officer , working closely with Consultant Psychiatrists as part of dedicated multidisciplinary clinical teams. This permanent full-time/ part-time position offers the opportunity to collaborate with experienced healthcare professionals while delivering high-quality psychiatric and medical care within a supportive and patient-focused environment. In this role, you will provide medical care alongside accredited Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs), including facilitating psychiatric risk assessments and providing comprehensive medical assessments and management of consumers while contributing to the delivery of exception patient centred care. You will work closely with VMO’s, Unit Managers, Admissions Officers and clinical staff to support patient assessment, treatment planning, ongoing care and discharge processes, while maintaining accurate clinical documentation, medication records and transfer summaries. You will play an active role in supporting the broader clinical team through participation in case reviews, case conferences, training sessions, and professional development activities. You will contribute to quality improvement initiatives and support a range of committees as part of the hospital's clinical governance framework. In addition, you will maintain current knowledge of developments in Psychiatry and General Practice to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care. You will hold general registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) and have at least three years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting and you will demonstrate a genuine interest in Psychiatry and be committed to delivering high-quality patient care while working under the guidance and supervision of senior clinicians. The successful candidate will possess strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. Experience in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) services is desirable, although training and support can be provided.
