Position Overview

This position serves as KANA's lead healthcare data analytics and reporting resource, responsible for independently managing the collection, validation, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of clinical, quality, and operational data. It requires an experienced professional with expertise in healthcare analytics and electronic health record reporting who utilizes data-driven insights to support organizational performance, quality improvement, accreditation readiness, regulatory reporting, and strategic decision-making.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert in data reporting and analytics by working with management, staff, and stakeholders to interpret outcomes, identify trends, and troubleshoot system-related issues affecting data collection, reporting, compliance, and performance improvement.
  • Independently produces, maintains, analyzes, and distributes dashboards and other internal operational reports on a regular and ongoing basis.
  • Utilizes electronic health record systems, population health platforms, databases, and other software applications to monitor, track, analyze, and report organizational outcomes.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with multiple stakeholders across the Health Department to create unique and customized data reports.
  • Leads the retrieval, validation, and storage of quality, clinical, and operational data.
  • Compiles, analyzes, and interprets data to support grant reporting, accreditation activities, KANA Health Department operational reporting, and other ad hoc data requests.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains custom reporting tools within electronic health record (EHR) systems to extract, validate, and integrate data for Power BI.
  • Leads quality control activities by developing and implementing robust quality assurance systems to monitor scheduling and registration data, clinical record documentation, provider productivity, and other aspects of clinical quality and operational performance.
  • Participates in KANA’s quality improvement activities by independently generating and presenting data analyses and reports used to monitor organizational performance and quality initiatives.
  • Coordinates with ANTHC and other partners to validate population health management software.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in statistics, data analytics, data science, health information management, or other health-related field, with demonstrated experience in healthcare data analytics and data quality management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum three (3) years of PowerBI experience, including demonstrated proficiency with coding in DAX, M, SQL, as well as data transformation, dashboard development, and query writing for large datasets required. Advanced user of Microsoft Excel.

Demonstrated experience in building custom reports within E.H.R.s that can be exported and shared. Strong organizational skills and proven ability to handle multiple projects and competing deadlines. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, and analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Work Schedule

KANA’s standard work schedule is 37.5 working hours per week, consisting of 7.5 paid working hours per day plus a one-hour unpaid lunch break (8.5 hours on site per day).
