Hospital for Sick Children, Division of Clinical and Metabolic Genetics

Effective July 1, 2027, the Department of Paediatrics, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Division of Clinical and Metabolic Genetics at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), 555 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, are recruiting a full-time permanent Academic Clinician Staff Physician.

The Hospital for Sick Children is an academic health science centre dedicated exclusively to children and is affiliated with the University of Toronto.

The Division of Clinical and Metabolic Genetics has a long tradition of excellence in clinical care, education, and innovative research. Division members conduct both independent and collaborative clinical and basic research. The Division hosts a residency training program, as well as fellowship programs in Clinical Biochemical Genetics and Laboratory Biochemical Genetics. These programs are fully accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the Canadian College of Medical Geneticists (CCMG). The Hospital for Sick Children also has a full-service biochemical diagnostic laboratory within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic interprofessional care team and provide care for clinical genetics patients in both outpatient clinics and inpatient consultation services. Specific interest and expertise in methylation disorders, overgrowth, and mechanisms of imprinting are preferred but not required. Experience interpreting results from long-read genome-wide sequencing, RNA sequencing, and methylation testing is highly desirable. Evidence of excellence in teaching and research is required. Candidates at all career stages are encouraged to apply.

All Candidates Must

' Hold an MD, MBBS, or equivalent degree.

' Be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or possess comparable qualifications.

' Hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

' Demonstrate proficiency in English.

This position will remain open until filled.

The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Academic rank and salary ($275,543 to $340,000 per annum) will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
