About The Role

This is more than a specialist clinical nursing role. It’s an opportunity to lead practice, influence care and make a meaningful difference for people experiencing alcohol and other drug concerns alongside complex co-occurring health conditions.

As the Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2, you’ll deliver advanced, evidence-based care within community settings, working closely with consumers, multidisciplinary teams and partner services to provide coordinated and responsive care.

You’ll also have the opportunity to share your expertise through clinical leadership, education and mentoring, while contributing to quality improvement and the continued development of best-practice AOD services.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide advanced clinical assessment, care planning and intervention for people experiencing AOD issues and complex co-occurring health conditions.
  • Deliver person-centred and trauma-informed care within community settings, including ambulatory withdrawal and targeted health interventions.
  • Partner with multidisciplinary teams and external services to create coordinated and seamless pathways of care.
  • Provide clinical leadership, mentoring and education to support colleagues and strengthen workforce capability.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, clinical governance and the ongoing development of evidence-based AOD practice.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced and compassionate nurse who can combine advanced clinical expertise with strong collaboration and leadership skills.

You’ll Bring

  • Advanced clinical skills and demonstrated experience managing complex AOD presentations and co-occurring health conditions.
  • A current Australian-recognised tertiary qualification as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration, together with a relevant postgraduate qualification and experience in Alcohol and Other Drugs or a related specialty.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and services.
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice, professional development and high-quality, person-centred care.
  • A current paid NSW Working with Children Check.
  • A current Class C Driver Licence and willingness to travel throughout the District.

Why Join Us?

Bring your expertise somewhere it can have an impact beyond a single interaction.

In this role, you’ll help people navigate complex health challenges, support colleagues to grow their clinical capability and contribute to stronger, more connected AOD services across rural communities.

You’ll be part of a passionate multidisciplinary team that values collaboration, specialist knowledge and person-centred care, with the opportunity to use your experience to influence practice and help shape high-quality services across MLHD.

If you’re ready for a specialist nursing role that offers purpose, clinical leadership, flexibility and the opportunity to make a genuine difference, we’d love to hear from you.
