Clinical Pharmacist - Medication Quality, Performance Improve & Safety

This is a foundational, enterprise-impact role designed to strengthen medication safety, and performance improvement across UVA Health. As a key member of a growing team, you will directly support system-wide initiatives that ensure safe, effective, and data-driven pharmacy practices across outpatient, ambulatory, and retail pharmacy settings. In this newly created role, you will collaborate closely with pharmacists and operational leaders to transform complex data into actionable insights. This position is ideal for a pharmacist or pharmacy professional with a strong interest in medication safety, compliance, process improvement, and experience in outpatient, retail or ambulatory clinical pharmacy settings . The Role On a typical day, you will blend data analysis, clinical insight, and process improvement to support medication safety initiatives and reporting needs. What you will do Review patient charts and complex datasets to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement Analyze and interpret medication safety related data across ambulatory, outpatient, and specialty environments Develop structured reports, dashboards, and breakdowns that inform medication safety and operational decisions Support process improvement initiatives , particularly in ambulatory and outpatient medication safety workflows Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance safe medication use practices across the enterprise Contribute to evolving workflows in a newly established role , helping shape how this function grows within UVA Health This position offers a dynamic mix of analytical, operational, and clinical support responsibilities , with meaningful exposure to enterprise-level pharmacy services and system-wide safety priorities. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor's in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy required . Experience: No experience required . PGY-1 residency or equivalent clinical experience preferred. Licensure: Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License or within 60 days of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required . PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Job requires sitting for prolonged periods; Repetitive motion: typing. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The pay range for this role is $64.37 - $87.33 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
