FIRY Communications Co-Op Rotational Program Six-month, in-person program at FIRY headquarters in Las Vegas | Potential full-time conversion to work out of the New York City office if desired (relocation support provided) Eligibility: You must be an enrolled graduate student at the start of the program and graduate no more than 1 year after the program begins Strong performers may be considered for a full-time opportunity at the end of the program About the Role FIRY is looking for an exceptional graduate student to join its inaugural Communications Co-op Rotational Program. You will join a two-person cohort, train directly with the Head of Communications, and work alongside the Office of the CEO and leaders across the business. You will learn how a public company develops its narrative, prepares executives, earns attention, and communicates with precision when every word matters. You will not spend the term observing from the sidelines. With close coaching and structured review, you will help draft CEO communications, executive remarks, press releases, thought leadership, media pitches, briefing materials, award submissions, and other tactical communications assets. As your judgment and fluency grow, so will the visibility and independence of your assignments. The program begins with six months of intensive, in-person development at FIRY's Las Vegas headquarters. At month five, your performance will be reviewed against transparent conversion criteria. Successful co-ops may be offered a full-time role in FIRY's New York office, where the position is expected to grow with the company and deepen its connection to the media, agency, financial, and creative communities. Responsibilities: Draft internal CEO memos, all-hands messaging, leadership updates, executive remarks, talking points, Q&A, and briefing materials for review. Draft press releases and announcement materials; assemble review packets and help coordinate routing across Communications, Legal, Investor Relations, Product, and other partners. Build and maintain segmented media lists, research reporters and outlets, draft targeted pitches, and help prepare executives for media engagement. Ghostwrite bylined articles and other executive content, adapting to the voice and point of view of the leader whose name appears on the work. Research opportunities, maintain the executive awards calendar, and draft nominations and supporting materials. Maintain executive bios, corporate boilerplate, fact sheets, proof points, and the corporate messaging house. Track earned coverage and message pull-through, then apply the findings to future releases, pitches, and executive materials. Use AI tools thoughtfully to improve research, drafting, editing, and variant generation while retaining full accountability for accuracy, confidentiality, judgment, and voice. Key Competencies Writing craft: Produces clean prose on deadline and adapts voice to an executive speaker or a wire release without losing clarity. Ghostwriting instinct: Disappears into someone else's voice. The executive’s memo should read like the executive wrote it. Coachability: Takes heavy edit without defensiveness and applies the correction to the next draft. This is the strongest predictor of conversion. Discretion: Handles pre-announcement, personnel, and financial material without leakage. Editorial judgment: Developing a sense of what is newsworthy, what is defensible, and what should not be said in public by a company with a ticker symbol. Learn and be curious: Builds product and business fluency fast enough to write with authority about things they had never heard of three months earlier. Deliver results: Manages assigned memos, releases, pitches, and remarks against fixed deadlines. Tooling fluency: Uses AI tooling to increase throughput while retaining full accountability for accuracy. Experience Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Political Science, Marketing, or a closely related discipline with expected graduation in May 2027 or December 2027. A portfolio of strong writing. Bylines, student journalism, agency work, executive-style writing, press materials, campaign work, or independent publication may all qualify. Prior experience through an internship, student agency, campus publication, newsroom, research center, or comparable environment. Demonstrated ability to write in a voice other than your own and move between formats without losing clarity. Exceptional attention to factual accuracy, grammar, audience, and deadline management. The maturity and discretion to handle pre-announcement, personnel, financial, and executive information. Willingness to relocate to Las Vegas for the co-op term and, if converted, stay in Las Vegas or relocate to New York for the full-time role.
