Important Location Requirement:

This is a nationwide rotational programme, not a single-location position.

You will complete two 12-month placements, which may be based in completely different parts of the UK. For example, your first placement could be at Dounreay in the north of Scotland and your second at Dungeness in Kent.

You must therefore be genuinely willing and able to travel and relocate anywhere in England, Scotland or Wales during the programme. Relocation support will be available where required.

The Opportunity

Join a leading organisation within the UK nuclear sector and contribute to one of the country’s most complex and nationally important environmental missions.

During this two-year graduate programme, you will complete two 12-month placements across different organisations, teams and locations. You will gain practical experience of how commercial decisions, supply chains and supplier partnerships support major infrastructure, decommissioning and environmental restoration programmes.

Alongside your placements, you will complete a structured graduate development programme designed to strengthen your commercial knowledge, professional skills and leadership potential.

You will learn from experienced industry professionals, build a valuable network and gain broad exposure to commercial operations within a unique and highly regulated sector.

The Role

As a Commercial, Supply Chain and Business Development Graduate, you will help ensure that major programmes have access to the goods, services, expertise and supplier partnerships required for successful delivery.

Working alongside experienced commercial professionals and multidisciplinary project teams, you may contribute to:

• Procurement and strategic sourcing
• Contract development and management
• Supplier engagement and relationship management
• Category management
• Supply chain planning
• Commercial and market analysis
• Business development activities
• Commercial strategy
• Risk assessment and management
• Evaluating supplier performance
• Supporting tender and bidding processes
• Identifying opportunities to improve value for money

You will develop an understanding of how large organisations balance cost, risk, sustainability, performance and operational requirements when making commercial decisions.

Your placements could include work supporting major infrastructure programmes, specialist engineering services, technology investments, nuclear waste management activities and complex decommissioning projects.

Professional Qualification

As part of the programme, you will undertake the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply Level 4 Corporate Award.

This recognised qualification will help you build the technical knowledge and professional skills required for a successful career in procurement, supply chain, business development or commercial management.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered, you must:

• Hold, or be on track to achieve, a minimum 2:2 degree in a relevant discipline
• Have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the programme
• Be willing and able to travel and relocate anywhere in England, Scotland or Wales
• Understand that your second placement may be in a completely different region from your first
• Be able to pass the required security clearance and vetting checks
• Demonstrate a respectful, collaborative, open-minded and performance-focused approach

What Happens After the Programme?
