A bit about us:

Our client, a well-established utility company, is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee construction activities for utility infrastructure and capital improvement projects. This position will be responsible for managing projects from pre-construction through completion, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with engineering specifications, regulatory requirements, and company standards.

The Construction Manager will work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Operations, contractors, inspectors, and other stakeholders to coordinate field execution and ensure successful project delivery.

We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to join our team. As a Construction Manager, you will supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish. You will organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. This position requires relocation, and a comprehensive relocation package is provided to facilitate this process.

Responsibilities:

As a Construction Manager, your responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget.
2. Reviewing projects in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
3. Coordinating and directing construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring that they understand their roles and responsibilities and perform their tasks to a high standard.
4. Reviewing and understanding all contracts and contractual obligations.
5. Ensuring adherence to all health and safety standards and reporting issues.
6. Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists.
7. Ensuring that all work complies with building and safety codes and regulations.
8. Preparing internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
9. Analyzing, managing, and mitigating risks on the construction site.
10. Keeping daily logs, including information about work progress, issues that arise, and actions taken.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Construction Manager position should have the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a Construction Manager, Project Manager, or a similar role in construction.
3. In-depth understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
4. Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
5. Good knowledge of MS Office and construction/project management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid).
6. Familiarity with construction/ project management software.
7. Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
8. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
9. Ability to lead a team and make important decisions.
10. Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and other relevant safety regulations.
11. Excellent problem-solving abilities.
