Salary & Benefits

HSE Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist Package

• €238,221 - €286,151 Consultant Salary Scale
• On-call payments and additional allowances where applicable

The Role

As a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, you may:

• Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment for children and adolescents with moderate to severe mental health disorders
• Lead and support multidisciplinary CAMHS teams
• Deliver community-based, outpatient and specialist CAMHS services
• Contribute to early intervention and preventative mental healthcare programmes
• Support CAMHS service development and transformation initiatives
• Supervise NCHDs and contribute to medical education
• Participate in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and research
• Collaborate with families, schools, primary care and community partners to deliver integrated care

Many current opportunities involve consultant leadership within multidisciplinary CAMHS teams comprising psychiatry, psychology, nursing, occupational therapy, social work and other allied health professionals.

Requirements

Essential

• Specialist Registration, or eligibility for Specialist Registration, with the Irish Medical Council
• CCT, CCST, CESR or equivalent recognised specialist qualification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
• Experience working within Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)
• Strong leadership and multidisciplinary team experience
• Excellent clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Commitment to person-centred and evidence-based care

Desirable

• Experience in CAMHS Intellectual Disability Services
• Inpatient or Crisis CAMHS experience
• Clinical leadership, research or teaching experience
• Service development and quality improvement expertise
