Consultant / Specialist Paediatrician to join a supportive and highly experienced
Women's, Children's and Youth Health team at a leading tertiary hospital in tropical Northern Australia.

The Clinical Opportunity You will manage a broad and stimulating paediatric caseload across
acute, general, developmental and behavioural paediatrics.
The Service Provides Exposure To
- General paediatric and adolescent inpatient care
- Neonatal intensive care and retrieval services
- General paediatric outpatient clinics
- Specialist paediatric clinics
- Developmental and behavioural paediatrics

Clinical presentations range from common childhood illnesses through to complex conditions that are more prevalent across tropical, rural and remote communities, including:
- Bronchiectasis
- Rheumatic heart disease
- Malnutrition
- Infectious diseases
- Complex chronic disease
- Conditions associated with rural and remote healthcare delivery
You will also have the opportunity to participate in
clinical governance, service development, research, quality improvement and postgraduate medical education.
Teaching & Professional Development The service has a strong commitment to education and provides opportunities to teach and supervise:

regional and remote paediatric outreach.
You will have the opportunity to work across different healthcare environments and provide specialist support to children and families who may otherwise have limited access to specialist paediatric services.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.

About You To be considered, you will have one of the following:
- FRACP in Paediatrics and specialist registration with AHPRA; or
- An overseas specialist qualification assessed as substantially comparable; or
- Eligibility to apply through Australia's Expedited Specialist Pathway
