The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Join as Corporate Counsel and take ownership of commercial contracting as the first dedicated in-house attorney. This is a hands-on legal role working with leadership and cross-functional teams.
What you'll do
- Draft, review, negotiate, and redline commercial agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, data licenses, and DPAs.
- Work with leadership and people teams on contract matters.
- Improve contract templates and negotiation playbooks.
- Coordinate specialized matters with outside counsel.
- Support adjacent legal needs, including employment-related issues, as the business grows.
What we're looking for
- 3 to 6 years of relevant legal experience.
- A JD and active California bar admission.
- Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation experience.
- In-house experience at an early-stage or growing startup.
- Comfort using AI tools in legal workflows.
- Practical judgment and willingness to take on adjacent legal work.
Bonus points
- Technology or data licensing experience.
- Employment law, contractor classification, or offer-letter experience.
- Law-firm training followed by in-house experience.
Compensation and benefits
- Base salary: USD 225,000 to 250,000 per year.
