Capata is a data-driven invoice financing fintech in Singapore. We finance invoices from Singapore SMEs serving blue-chip multinational buyers.
The gap we close is a simple one. Large buyers have the negotiating power to take long payment terms. Their SME suppliers are left waiting on cash and are too small for banks to serve properly. We fund that gap and help the SME grow.
Capata is well funded and backed by an established investor with a 13-year track record. The credit function is small, technical, and central to everything we do.
We put real capital behind every transaction we write. That means we need to understand each deal completely and quickly before we fund it. Depth is what protects our capital. Speed is what allows us to grow. Nothing here is funded on a hunch.
We are hiring a Credit Analyst to own that work. You will report directly to the Chief Investment Officer and sit at the centre of the credit process from first look to funding to collection.
Underwrite. Score buyers on payment history and financial risk to arrive at a rating and a credit limit. Analyse supplier cash flow. Assess guarantors using credit bureau data. Design the funding mechanism to ensure we are financing real and authentic transactions. Form a recommendation, write the credit memo, and defend both.
Monitor the portfolio. Track overdue positions and payment behaviour. Flag what is drifting before it becomes a problem.
Screen buyers for origination. Help the business development side qualify new buyers and suppliers quickly, so effort goes where the credit will actually stand up.
Automate your own job. This is a real part of the role, not a footnote. We expect the analyst doing this work to keep making it faster — building AI-assisted workflows for document extraction, financial spreading, screening and memo drafting. Our stack today runs on Claude, Excel, Notion and our own proprietary system, and it is actively changing.
• 2–3 years' experience, across functions. Finance experience is welcome but not required.
• An advanced, active user of AI. Hard requirement. Be ready to walk us through workflows you have built and what they replaced — not tools you have read about. Candidates who cannot give concrete examples will not progress.
• Commercial sense and instinctive critical thinking. You interrogate a number before you rely on it, and you speak up when something does not add up. You understand why a deal matters to the business, not just whether it passes the test.
• Enterprising. You notice a wasteful step and come back with a proposal, rather than doing it forty more times.
• Fast learner, comfortable with pace. Small team, live capital, incomplete information, real deadlines.
• Project management experience (in any capacity). You have run something end to end with moving parts, other people and a deadline. A work project, a non-profit, a university society or a school event all count.
• A strong communicator, on paper and in person. A credit memo is an argument — you need to make it clearly and concisely. You will also be in conversations with all internal and external stakeholders, including the difficult conversations when a payment is late.
• Direct exposure to the CIO and to the Investment Committee — from your first month.
• A clear path to Senior Underwriter, with independent credit approval authority, for an analyst who demonstrates the judgement to hold it. We will tell you plainly what that bar is.
• A mandate to build, not just operate. What you automate stays automated and becomes how the firm works.
• Competitive package.
Singapore-based, in-office. Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents preferred; Employment Pass sponsorship considered for an outstanding candidate.
