Join a premier Cardiac Intensive Care Unit caring for some of the most complex and critically ill cardiovascular patients in the region. We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to become part of a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary cardiac critical care team.

Position Highlights

· High-acuity CICU managing:

o Cardiogenic shock

o Advanced heart failure

o Post-myocardial infarction complications

o Mechanical circulatory support (ECMO, Impella, IABP, VAD)

· Work alongside nationally recognized cardiologists, intensivists and cardiac surgeons

· 24/7 Cardiac Intensivist Support

· Opportunity to participate in education, quality improvement, protocol development, and research initiatives

· No call requirements

Schedule

· Twelve (13 hr) shifts/month; 145 shifts/year

· Rotating days, nights, and weekends. Nocturnist or Weekender positions considered

· Inpatient Cardiac ICU setting

Responsibilities

· Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of critically ill cardiac patients

· Manage vasoactive infusions, inotropes, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and mechanical circulatory support devices

· Collaborate with physicians, residents, nursing, pharmacy, rehabilitation, and ancillary services to optimize patient outcomes

· Coordinate care transitions across the continuum of care

· Contribute to evidence-based practice, education, and program development

Qualifications

Required

· Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

· Experience as an Advanced Practice Provider

· Current North Carolina NP or PA license (or eligibility)

· National certification (AGACNP, ACNP, or NCCPA)

· BLS and ACLS certification

Preferred

· 2+ years of cardiac critical care, CVICU, CICU, or ICU experience

· Experience with ECMO, Impella, IABP, and advanced hemodynamic management
