What You'll Do (Typical Responsibilities Across Client Engagements)

Monitor security alerts, logs, and events using SIEM and security monitoring platforms
Investigate and respond to potential security incidents and suspicious activities
Assist with vulnerability assessments, security testing, and remediation activities
Analyze network traffic, system logs, and security events to identify potential threats
Support endpoint, network, application, and cloud security initiatives
Assist with security incident documentation, investigation, and reporting
Participate in security operations, incident response, and threat-hunting activities
Work with security tools such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability scanners, and firewalls
Support identity and access management (IAM), authentication, and access-control processes
Participate in security audits, risk assessments, and compliance-related activities
Follow security best practices and organizational policies to protect systems and data
Collaborate with IT, cloud, software development, and infrastructure teams on security requirements

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or a closely related field
0–3 years of professional, internship, academic, or hands-on cybersecurity experience
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPNs, and firewalls
Understanding of operating systems, particularly Linux and Windows
Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts including vulnerabilities, threats, authentication, encryption, and incident response
Basic knowledge of security monitoring and SIEM concepts
Familiarity with scripting or programming in Python, PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript, or a similar language
Understanding of common security frameworks and practices
Experience with Git and collaborative technical workflows is a plus
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills

EDR/XDR and endpoint security tools
Vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus, Qualys, or OpenVAS
Network security tools, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and packet-analysis tools
Cloud security exposure: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
Identity and access management (IAM), Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra ID
Python, PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting experience
Incident response and digital forensics fundamentals
Penetration testing and ethical hacking fundamentals
OWASP Top 10 and application security concepts
Security frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, or ISO 27001
Docker, Kubernetes, and container-security fundamentals
Security automation and SOAR concepts
Exposure to AI/LLM security, threat detection, or security automation
