Data Engineer — Entry to 3 Years


Location: United States (Onsite / Hybrid / Remote - based on client engagement)


Employment Type: Full-Time


Experience: 0–3 Years


Compensation: $75,000 - $115,000/year (based on experience, location, and skill set)


About This Opportunity


Amoha Recruitment Services is a US-focused staffing and placement firm actively building a talent pipeline of data engineering professionals for upcoming client engagements across technology, finance, healthcare, and SaaS.

What You'll Do (Typical Responsibilities Across Client Engagements)


  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data-processing workflows
  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to collect, transform, and load data from multiple sources
  • Develop data integrations using APIs, databases, files, and cloud-based data services
  • Work with relational and NoSQL databases to store, process, and manage large datasets
  • Write efficient SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis
  • Develop data-processing solutions using Python, SQL, Java, or similar programming languages
  • Support data warehouse and data lake implementations
  • Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot data quality, performance, and reliability issues
  • Implement data validation, quality checks, and monitoring processes
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and business teams to support data requirements
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, code reviews, documentation, and CI/CD workflows
  • Work with cloud platforms and modern data engineering technologies to support scalable data solutions


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related field
  • 0–3 years of professional, internship, academic, or hands-on data engineering experience
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python, Java, Scala, or similar
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and data modeling concepts
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and data pipeline development
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative version-control workflows
  • Basic understanding of cloud computing and data services
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills

  • Data engineering platforms and tools such as Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, Kafka, or Databricks
  • Cloud platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Cloud data services such as Amazon Redshift, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or Google BigQuery
  • Data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse architectures
  • Relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle
  • NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB
  • Python, PySpark, Java, Scala, or similar programming languages
  • ETL/ELT tools and orchestration frameworks
  • Data modeling, dimensional modeling, and database optimization
  • Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized data-processing environments
  • CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Data quality, data governance, and metadata management
  • Business intelligence and analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Exposure to AI/ML data pipelines and machine-learning workflows
  • Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, CSV, XML, and other data formats
