We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented professional to join our Information and Data Resources Center, where information management and classified information management + data processing and analyses come together to support critical national security missions. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of mission-critical information and data—from receipt, cataloging, and storage through safeguarding, processing, retrieving, and distributing information and analyses of the data. You will help ensure information is accurate, reliable, accessible, and appropriately managed while using data management and analytical skills to support the evaluation of National Security Data. As a member of the team, you will work alongside dedicated professionals to improve how critical information and data are managed, processed, analyzed and delivered to those who depend on it.
As an Information and Data Resources Specialist you will be:
- Apply data management principles and established technical procedures to accurately capture and validate metadata, organize content, prepare operational reports, and enhance content categorization, data analyses, and search effectiveness.
- Perform quality control checks throughout the data processing lifecycle, identifying, investigating, and resolving data discrepancies in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
- Acquire, validate, process, store, retrieve, and distribute sponsor and customer documentation and data using established information management systems and processing workflows.
- Apply technical problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot data processing issues, identify inconsistencies, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of information products.
- Support technological and procedural improvements to enhance data processing, storage, retrieval, and distribution capabilities, including identifying opportunities to streamline existing workflows.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical procedures, test plans, processing checklists, and quality control documentation to support consistent and accurate data handling.
- Develop working knowledge and analytical reports and products of information repositories, data processing tools, and associated operational workflows to support efficient information management and retrieval.
- Work in a DoD classified environment, supporting the acquisition, storage, retrieval, and distribution of high volumes of operational and organizational information and data resources in accordance with established security and program requirements.
Qualifications
You meet the minimum qualifications for the job if you:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; to include relevant data processing/information management experience.
- Are proficient with the Windows operating system and the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Have experience using databases to enter, search, retrieve and analyze records.
- Have a work and performance history that reflects a motivated individual with strong communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and use critical thinking skills in managing and coordinating the flow of high-value information.
- Willing to work on-site full time.
- Can work on multiple tasks and set priorities within the assigned area of responsibility.
- Are able to travel to sponsor facilities for at least two (2) weeks per year for work assignments.
Are able to obtain Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
You will go above and beyond the minimum requirements if you have:
- Have at least two years of experience working in a DoD classified environment, including handling and processing classified information and applying NISPOM requirements (32 CFR Part 117) for proper marking, storage, distribution, safeguarding, and disposition. Familiarity with managing content to support DTIC processes is also a plus.
