Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking a Database Analyst to join our team of qualified individuals located at Ellsworth AFB, SD.


Please note that this opportunity is contingent on program funding. Start dates are determined after funding confirmation.

Essential Functions

  • Performing data entry and/or database management operations in support of programs or products.
  • Controlling data definitions within established data standards for existing applications.
  • Performing regular data validation.
  • Maintaining database specifications by initiating or responding to database change requests.
  • Updating and maintaining database records and tables as required.
  • Monitoring and auditing database operations.
  • Verify database security and integrity controls.
  • Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform complex tasks.
  • Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
  • Resolve routine questions and problems and elevates more complex problems.
  • Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives

Basic Qualifications for Database Analyst

  • Must have a High School diploma/GED and 6 years of relevant Database Administrator/Analyst experience; or an Associate’s Degree and 4 years of relevant Database Administrator/Analyst experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of Database Administrator/Analyst experience; or a Master’s Degree.
  • Your ability to Obtain and/or Transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company
  • Current CompTIA Security Plus (or higher) certification.
  • Experience developing and scripting using SQL or other query languages.
  • Experience generating visual reports in tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience with backups of large databases and transaction logs.
  • Experience with STIG and database security controls.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts in plain language.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be willing/able to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, and 365 days a year.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing and maintaining databases.
  • Experience with remote cloud architecture.
  • Experience working in an Air Force flightline environment
  • Experience working with Air Force flight communications systems
  • Active US Government SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance.
  • Active Specific Special Access Program access.

Primary Level Salary Range: $38,600.00 - $64,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
