What does the company do?
The company is a VC-backed AI startup based in Milan, building a platform that eliminates production line downtime. Their product reads electrical schemas in all CAD formats and PLC code to pinpoint exact faults, saving manufacturing plants thousands of euros per hour. It is not a basic RAG chatbot: every technical answer is traceable to the exact component, which is the only way to earn trust in an industrial facility. They already have paying multinational clients using the product daily.
The challenge
- You will be the company's first marketing hire, reporting directly to the CEO, not to build a brand, but to generate qualified pipeline and arm the sales team with material that closes deals.
- First 60 days: conversion assets. Three customer case studies (interviews, real downtime numbers, IT/EN/DE versions), an ROI model that quantifies the cost of downtime in euros for sales calls, technical one-pagers, and competitor battle cards.
- From month 2: the outbound engine. ICP definition for international markets, target list building, and the full outbound infrastructure: sequences, deliverability, domain warm-up, A/B testing, reply and meeting reporting.
- Ongoing: turning trade fairs (SPS Italia, SPS Nürnberg, Hannover Messe, Global Industrie Lyon) into real campaigns, meetings booked before the event, not badges scanned during it, plus website, technical SEO, and company LinkedIn in the background.
- There is more to fix than one person can do in year one. Part of the role is deciding what comes first.
Who are we looking for?
- 3-6 years in B2B marketing, with hands-on experience in outbound and pipeline generation, not just brand or content.
- A background in industrial, manufacturing, automation, or industrial software.
- Fluent Italian and English.
- You write your own copy, case studies, and technical material.
- Willingness to travel for trade fairs (roughly 4-6 trips a year).
- Familiarity with Apollo, Lemlist, HubSpot, or equivalent tools.
- BONUS (not a must): German fluency (C1 or native)
The offer
- €50k - €60k Base Salary + Equity.
- Hybrid working model based in Milan.
- Open to candidates relocating from abroad, with support for relocation and, if eligible, access to Italy's "impatriati" tax regime (worth several thousand extra net euros a year at this salary band).
- The opportunity to be the founding marketing hire of a fast-growing deep-tech company.
