The Role

QT Queenstown is Queenstown's largest 5-star hotel, currently being transformed into something seriously special with 225 lake-view rooms and four distinct dining and bar venues. The kitchen behind it is equally ambitious and we're looking for a Demi Chef de Partie to grow with us. This is a permanent, full-time role with a minimum guaranteed 40 hours per week. You'll be working under the guidance of the Executive Chef, developing your skills across a dynamic hotel kitchen while contributing to a food offering that matches one of the world's most spectacular settings. Key Responsibilities

• Work across designated kitchen sections as directed by the Executive Chef, assisting with food preparation, cooking and service to the hotel's established standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environment at all times, following all cleaning rosters, food safety guidelines and health and safety procedures.
• Keep all sections stocked to established par levels, minimise waste through careful stock management and contribute to cost control across kitchen operations.
• Stay up to date with current and new menus, ensuring all recipes and preparation standards are understood and executed consistently.
• Use and maintain all kitchen equipment and chemicals correctly, ensuring operating equipment is protected and in good working order at all times.
• Participate in scheduled training and development programmes, attend departmental meetings and assist other departments and outlets when required.

What You'll Bring

• Previous kitchen experience in a hotel or restaurant environment, with a genuine desire to grow and develop as a chef.
• A strong work ethic, attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
• A commitment to food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards at all times.
• The ability to take direction from senior chefs and contribute positively to a team-focused kitchen culture.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• A current or eligibility for a New Zealand work visa. Sponsorship is available for the right candidate.
