About the Role We are currently seeking a Dental Assistant to join our dynamic Dental Assistant team based at Middlemore Hospital. Our Dental Assistants work in a friendly team environment with great mentoring and support. You would be an integral part of the hospital based team that provides dental care across our service. We provide our patients with a full range of dental services from special care, orthodontics to a wide range oral and maxillo-facial services. Your role will encompass: Chairside assisting in clinic Following and adhering to infection and prevention control measures Preparing instruments to be sent to the hospital Central Sterile Supplies Department for sterilisation Working within a range of dental specialties There will be opportunity for project work and continuing education. This is a permanent part-time role based at Middlemore Hospital, with occasional travel to satellite clinics at Auckland City Hospital and Greenlane Clinical Centre Department working hours are Monday – Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm. About you Applicants may be qualified dental assistants or have experience working in a chairside dental assisting role. Formal qualification is not required, with the opportunity for the successful candidate to work towards the NZDA Certificate in Dental Assisting. You will have good communication skills, a commitment to infection prevention and control, and enjoy working as part of an experienced team.
